Regular free workshops are linked to the Science and History curriculum at Key Stage 1 and 2. Led by qualified staff, the workshops last about 45 minutes and are based on contact with real specimens from the Museum’s handling collection and those on display. Sessions are available on the hour every hour from 10.00 to 15.00.
A maximum of 32 children may attend any workshop, with one adult accompanying a maximum of 10 children.
Suggested pre-or post-visit work can also be supplied on request when you confirm your visit.

Mini-beasts and Green plants workshops involve outdoor work, so children should be dressed appropriately. An alternative will be provided if the weather is bad.

Compare items that are living, dead and have never been alive, and look at the characteristics of life.
