Bringing the Museum to you

Let us bring a small part of the Natural History Museum to you. Groups can learn while having fun with our workshops at your community centre.

Adults can learn more about hair and its importance in our Hair and Health workshop. Children, adults and families will enjoy learning together in the Amazing Hair workshop. And discover nature in everyday objects in our Everyday Nature workshop.

Hair and Health workshop

For adults

Discover how your health and wellbeing is connected to your hair in this fun workshop. Take a look at different types of hair, find out how to comb, care for and style it. Explore human hair, sharing stories while learning about its importance across various cultures. Touch amazing animal specimens and discover how their hair has adapted to help them survive.

Amazing Hair workshop

For groups of children aged 7-11, with adults and families

Take part in the Amazing Hair workshop and enjoy fun activities such as combing and styling. Discover more about hair and see it close up. You’ll even get to handle real animal specimens, exploring how hair helps them survive.

Everyday Nature workshop

For groups of children aged 7-11, with adults and families

Discover nature in everyday objects in this fun and engaging workshop. Touch amazing natural specimens and find out where we use them in our daily lives. Through lively activities, explore our relationship with the planet on which we live.

Group size: 8-16.

Workshop availability

Workshops are available once a month, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday, on a first come, first served basis. All workshops last one hour and must be booked between 11.00 and 16.00.
