The
Natural History Museum Book of Dinosaurs
3rd
edition
Tim
Gardom and Angela Milner
Dinosaurs
spring to life from these exciting pages, which explore
these remarkable creatures in the context of their own
dynamic environment. From the huge ponderous sauropods
to the fast and deadly theropods, learn what the dinosaurs
ate, how they defended themselves, how fast they grew,
where they lived and nested, and the latest theories on
how and why the dinosaurs died out. The Natural History
Museum Book of Dinosaurs also reveals how human beings
discovered that dinosaurs existed.
Covering
all the latest discoveries including exciting new research
on feathered dinosaurs from China, evidence that overturns
the notion that sauropods all had long necks, research
which suggests that not all theropods were meat-eaters
and that Deinonychus used its hind claws as climbing
aids, this stunning book keeps the incredible age of the
dinosaur alive.
For
more than 160 million years, dinosaurs were the most successful
and varied animals to dominate the Earth. The Natural
History Museum Book of Dinosaurs is based on the world-famous
fossil collections and the permanent Dinosaurs
exhibition at the Museum.
Written
under the authority of one of the worlds leading
departments of palaeontology and packed with outstanding
models, paintings and full-colour illustrations showing
the amazing variety of life that proliferated
in the Mesozoic Era the age of the dinosaurs
this book is a must for dinosaur fans and readers alike.
