Museum launches new website

The Natural History Museum’s website has had an overhaul and now has a brand new look.

There are over 15,000 pages and a million science records, serving the Museum's diverse audience of scientists, teachers, kids, visitors and businesses.

The website has been redesigned with the help of Graphico New Media and has been restructured to better meet the needs of our audience and to be more accessible. 

A new content management system, Rhythmyx designed by Percussion software, has been implemented to enable our contributors to update content more easily.  

But we haven’t finished! We will continue to update and improve the site, developing a programme of online content about the natural world that inspirea and engages our eight million visitors worldwide.

Nature online   is a vast store of fascinating information about the natural world. Explore our interactive map, Global Reach, and discover some of the cutting-edge research we undertake.

Kids only  is our new section for kids where you can watch flesh-eating beetles clean skeletons, find out what kind of dinosaur you are or find out how to become an ‘ologist!

Education  is the place to find out about the Museum's educational programmes for families, schools and adults. Search the new Teachers’ resource for all our online and offline educational resources.

Take part  shows you how to establish a closer relationship with the Museum by becoming a member or volunteer.  Contribute to the Museum's work and fully enjoy the Museum’s benefits.
